Senior Civil Engineering Manager – Rail Group

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineering Manager to join our Rail Group , overseeing the management and maintenance of railway structures, buildings, permanent way (P-Way), and associated infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions across our rail network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage civil engineering projects related to railway structures, buildings, P-Way, and associated infrastructure.
- Oversee asset management, inspections, maintenance strategies, and compliance with railway safety and engineering standards.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, and health and safety legislation.
- Manage budgets, resources, and reporting requirements to support business objectives.
Requirements:
- Ideally Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership with a recognised institution (ICE, IStructE, or equivalent) but not essential.
- Proven experience in civil engineering management within the rail sector, covering structures, P-Way, and buildings.
- Strong understanding of railway infrastructure, including asset management, inspections, and maintenance strategies.
- Experience managing large-scale projects, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
- In-depth knowledge of Network Rail standards, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
