Senior Commercial Manager – Events
Location: Wimbledon
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Contract Type: Full-Time, In-Office
A leading events organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to drive revenue growth, manage key accounts, and develop strategic partnerships for a major industry trade show. This is a pivotal role, responsible for exhibition sales—including stand and sponsorship revenue—as well as digital opportunities, leveraging both existing relationships and new business prospects.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Revenue Growth: Manage the full sales cycle from lead to contract negotiation and closing deals. Maximise revenue through exhibition stand sales, sponsorship, and digital channels. Identify and engage new business opportunities within relevant industry sectors. Work collaboratively with marketing, operations, and editorial teams to ensure successful event execution.
- Account Management & Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, and key stakeholders. Provide excellent account management to ensure high client satisfaction and retention. Develop tailored sponsorship and exhibitor packages to meet client objectives. Act as the key point of contact for commercial partners, ensuring seamless engagement before, during, and after the event.
- Market & Competitor Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor events, and emerging commercial opportunities. Conduct research to identify potential new revenue streams. Attend industry events to expand networks and generate new leads.
- Financial & Performance Management: Work towards and exceed revenue targets. Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates to senior management. Ensure accurate record-keeping of all commercial agreements and contracts.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a senior commercial sales role within events, exhibitions, media, or a related industry.
- Strong B2B sales and business development skills, with a track record of securing high-value deals.
- Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of exhibitor sales, event sponsorship, digital sales, and partnership management.
- Proactive, results-driven, and strategic mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
