The Civil Large Engines Maintenance Repair & Overhaul Technical Variance Flowline (CLE MRO TV Flowline) addresses all the TVs raised by the MRO bases servicing Civil Large Engines around the world. A Technical Variance authorises a deviation from a released Rolls-Royce Technical Publication. The MRO TV Flowline is essential to enable the MRO network to output over 1000 Engines per year on time and cost, hence has a direct impact on the Rolls-Royce business. It is also instrumental to the identification of systemic issues and their resolution by the appropriate organisation (e.g. RR engineering, MRO base).
As an Overhaul Services Engineer in the CLE MRO TV Flowline, you will technically support the maintenance and overhaul of gas turbine engines throughout the product lifecycle. This is a unique opportunity to further your understanding of the behaviour of the Civil Large Engines in service and of the worldwide MRO network operation, which you will influence first hand. You will work in a diverse environment, with colleagues based around the world. The role requires knowledge of the MRO tools and processes as well as the ability to integrate amongst various parts of the Rolls-Royce engineering organisation and the MRO network. It also requires the Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) delegation. Candidates who will be able to acquire the CVE delegation in role will also be considered.
Key Accountabilities
- Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) approval of MRO Technical Variances.
- Develop and maintain the engine overhaul process, ensuring that the most technically efficient, modern, flexible and low-cost method is achieved.
- Define and maintain technical requirements for component repair processes and ensure the component repair network meets them.
- Ensure that the required Maintenance, Operational and Overhaul Technical data meets the Company's Regulatory requirements, contractual and customer commitments, and that delivery is managed through the technical authoring supply chain.
- Interface between Manufacturing Engineering, MRO Bases, Services Operations, Design and other stakeholders to provide ongoing support and identify improvements.
- Ensure technical solutions meet agreed requirements, including but not limited to returning service run components back to serviceable condition.
Key Experiences and any Qualifications
- Good knowledge of functionality of relevant components and systems with full consideration of the intended form, fit and function of the product.
- Knowledge of manufacturing engineering and special processes.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and apply practical manufacturing thinking.
- Planning and program management experience with the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines, taking into account customer's needs and expectations.
