Job Description

We are currently working with a company at the forefront of innovative engineering solutions for the Marine industry. They utilise cutting-edge, fast-paced development experience to create world-leading products that redefine the industry. They are looking for a Naval Architect/Senior Naval Architect to take ownership of ship structures and vessel system integration projects, from concept through to production.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop ship structures and general ship design in compliance with international regulations and Classification Society rules.
  2. Collaborate with shipyards and design offices to ensure the successful implementation of designs.
  3. Develop and design various vessel systems, considering structural and general design implications.
  4. Create and manage the approval process for class-required drawings for ship structures and auxiliary systems.
  5. Prepare statutory required technical documentation, such as visibility plans and navigational lights plans.
  6. Ensure that all work is completed to an appropriate standard and level of detail, measured against contracted deliverables and tracked against agreed timelines.
  7. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members (Senior Level).

Experience Required:

  1. Knowledge of ship international regulations and Classification Society rules.
  2. Proven experience in general ship design and ship structures design.
  3. Preferable work experience in a shipyard or design office.
  4. Experience in the development and design of various vessel systems.
  5. Hands-on experience with the creation and approval process of class-required drawings for ship structures and vessel auxiliary systems.
