This Junior Sustainability Consultant opportunity within the New Energy Systems (NES) department of a leading energy infrastructure company offers a unique chance to support customers in managing their environmental sustainability. By ensuring effective communication, planning, implementation, and monitoring of environmental programmes, this role is pivotal in driving engagement, progress, and continual improvements in sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Represent the NES department internally and externally.
2. Engage with operational stakeholders in client organisations.
3. Support the assessment of environmental aspects and impacts of client operations, products, and services.
4. Assist in the operation of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standard management systems through document reviews, audits, and compliance activities.
5. Conduct on-site surveys and audits of customer operations.
6. Support organisations\’ participation in third-party environmental sustainability frameworks.
7. Manage the content and delivery of environmental communications.
8. Undertake data analysis to assess environmental performance.
9. Produce high-quality client reports.
10. Maintain action trackers and management system documentation.

Skills and Experience Required:

1. Degree or equivalent qualification or experience.
2. Specialist training or education in environmental sustainability.
3. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing, presentations, and other materials.
5. Ability to plan and organise work to a high standard within allocated timeframes.
6. Numeracy and literacy skills for analysing and interpreting data.
7. Experience with multiple management and information platforms and tools.
8. Ability to collate, interpret, quality-check, and communicate specialist information.
9. Knowledge of environmental and sustainability standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 50001) (desirable).
10. Experience in developing policies, procedures, and forms for environmental management (desirable).
11. Experience in environmental audits (desirable).
