My client are seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior Estimator (Mechanical or Electrical) who either has minimal experience working as a Mechanical/Electrical Estimator or someone on the tools who is looking to take the next step in their career. Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and develop skills in cost estimation for projects by analysing drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
- Work closely with senior estimators to gain hands-on experience in pricing and bid preparation.
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Maintain and update cost databases to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
- Support senior estimators in bid preparation and submission processes.
- Analyse project risks and provide recommendations on cost adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health & safety standards.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience working on the tools as a Plumber or Electrician.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn and develop estimating skills with full training provided.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn estimating software (Amtech, Bluebeam, Countfire, Trimble).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with a willingness to grow within the business.
