Job Description

General Manager – Accident Repair Centre

Location: Portsmouth
Shift: Monday-Friday, 07:30-17:00
Salary: £48,000-£55,000 per annum + Potential for a quarterly bonus based on site performance.
Contract: Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager to take charge of a busy Accident Repair Centre in Portsmouth. The role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring workflow efficiency, maintaining high repair quality, and delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the repair centre.
  2. Maximise profitability while maintaining quality standards.
  3. Manage and support staff across all departments, including workshop, VDAs, parts, and reception.
  4. Liaise with customers, ensuring top-tier service and communication.
  5. Ensure smooth workflow and update reception on workshop capacity.
  6. Maintain and enforce high-quality repair standards.
  7. Work closely with key stakeholders, clients, and internal teams.
  8. Support financial planning, budgeting, and cost reduction strategies.
  9. Assist with due diligence for potential business investments.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in workshop management.
  2. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Understanding of accounts, budgeting, and forecasting.
  5. Analytical mindset with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
  6. Knowledge of estimating processes and systems.
  7. Full UK driving licence required.
