Job Description
This Legal Director position is a key senior -earner role for a highly skilled property lawyer with extensive experience in the property aspects of energy and major infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in client leadership, team management, and business development, shaping the firm\’s strategic direction within the energy and infrastructure property sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Property Transactions & Advisory: Lead complex property matters, including land acquisitions, leases, wayleaves, easements, and the structuring of major energy and infrastructure projects.
- Client & Market Leadership: Build and manage client relationships, leading high-value, nationally significant transactions.
- Strategic Growth & Business Development: Drive sector growth by developing new client relationships, supporting bids, and expanding the firm\’s market presence.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior lawyers, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside planning, corporate, environmental, and regulatory teams to provide holistic legal solutions.
- Innovation & Industry Influence: Participate in industry panels, thought leadership initiatives, and the development of new legal services and solutions.
Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales) with extensive experience in property law for energy and infrastructure projects.
- Proven expertise in handling complex property transactions, including large-scale energy (wind, solar, hydrogen, carbon capture, battery storage, and nuclear) and infrastructure projects.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of business development and client relationship management.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor, inspire, and manage teams.
- A proactive, strategic thinker with a client-focused and solutions-driven approach.
