Job Description
We are seeking an Electronics Design Manager for a successful electronics manufacturer near Wakefield. This position will manage and lead the Engineering department (Software and Hardware) to ensure that all product development and technical projects meet stakeholder requirements and quality expectations and are delivered on time and on budget. As Electronics Design Manager, you will also support business development through technical bids and generating product ideas.
The position is best suited to someone who does not mind doing a bit of everything. As Electronics Design Manager, you will need strong hands-on design skills and previous experience in people management (in a senior electronic design engineer, project manager, or design manager capacity).
Role and Responsibilities
- Acceptance specifications are agreed with the customer and plans for an effective product life cycle.
- Ensures products are consistently delivered to meet and pass the criteria.
- Organises and co-ordinates the hardware/software team.
- Ensures that all operating procedures adhere to the ISO quality standards.
- Works closely with the business development teams to prepare commercial proposals.
- Member of the senior management team.
Skills and Abilities
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering qualification.
- 5 to 10 years experience as a senior electronic design engineer.
- Generalist electronics experience covering PCB design, circuit design, and embedded systems.
- Commitment to learning new skills and technology.
