Job Description
Calibration Engineer – 12-Month Contract
Location: Northampton (Hybrid)
Rate: Negotiable (Inside IR35)
Interview: On-site required
Role Overview: Seeking a Calibration Engineer to develop and optimize powertrain systems for energy efficiency, power, durability, and drivability. You’ll run test programs on dynos, simulations, and vehicles, analyzing data to enhance performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & calibrate internal combustion engines & hybrid powertrains
- Conduct dyno & rig testing for performance validation
- Implement & refine Bosch ECU control strategies
- Analyze test data using INCA, MDA, CANape, MATLAB
- Support local & international vehicle testing
- Collaborate with engineers to deliver high-performance solutions
What You Need:
Essential:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (2:1+)
- Strong knowledge of ICEs, turbocharging & hybrid systems
- Experience with gasoline calibration & Bosch ECU systems
- Hands-on dyno testing & powertrain control development
- Strong data analysis & problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- MSc/PhD in a relevant field
- Emissions calibration & drivability optimization experience
- Familiarity with hybrid system development
