Profile Criteria:
- 2 - 5 years of credit analysis experience from either a banking business or ratings agency
- Core skill set of financial/cash flow modelling, understanding of accounting and financial statement analysis, credit understanding and good presentation skills
- Open to sector and coverage but experience covering Oil & Gas, Mining and Metals, Natural Resources, Chemicals, Commodities would be highly advantageous.
Role Purpose:
Second line of defence role providing credit risk management for new and existing Corporate credit transactions in designated industry sectors within the Corporate credit portfolio across the EMEA region. Critical challenge and detailed review of credit submissions from Front Office, providing recommendations to credit approvers within the Credit Department, EMEA or the bank’s Head Office. Act as primary analyst on specified industry portfolio of clients (subject to allocation by team management), with oversight of a secondary portfolio where required. Manage a credit portfolio including applications and approval process, as well as monitoring emerging credit developments in conjunction with Front Office (first line of defence).
Responsibilities:
- Credit transactions: Analyse Front Office credit applications in a structured manner for clear identification and articulation of risk issues and how these may be mitigated. Articulate Credit Department risk perception and appetite for a transaction in line with bank policy and procedures, manage the interaction and communication with front office deal teams. Provide appropriate challenge to Front Office on risk issues of a client / transaction, working as a trusted partner with Front Office deal teams to ensure delivery to clients whilst maintaining high credit quality. Collaborate with other risk and compliance functions where appropriate to ensure enterprise-wide view of risk is considered.
- Credit portfolio management: Ensure obligor grades are accurate and reflect a current forward-looking view of the obligors in the assigned portfolio. Within assigned portfolio, review Self-Assessment submissions and credit cost provisioning for Special Credits.
