Objective of the Position: This position audits, evaluates and drives supplier development for suitability for sourcing new programs.
Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures that:
- Lead the effort to audit, evaluate and drive supplier development for suitability for sourcing new programs (20%)
- Engage poor performing suppliers to ensure continuous improvement (20%)
- Support new plant with any emergency issues related to supplier quality delivery.
- Oversee, participate in and coordinate activities of assigned suppliers of purchased products/services.
- Engage in product review, PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plans, and all other applicable areas of APQO/PPAP.
- Drive improvement through the use of metrics and tools such as PPAP, Root Cause Analysis, and SPC.
- Analyze and review quality reports to verify compliance, monitor performance, and detect potential problems.
- Update and create quality process documentation as needed to improve the effectiveness of ENA supplier processes.
Secondary Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures that:
- Conduct all business-related activities for, and on behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
- Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and other HSE related requirements.
- Quality – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all ENA policies related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirement Profile:
Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:
- Associates’ degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business or closely related field.
- Minimum two years’ experience working in the automotive industry in a quality, purchasing, engineering or manufacturing function.
- Minimum one year related experience working directly in the supplier quality function. Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in SAP.
- Thorough understanding of APQP/PPAP including Process Flow, Control Plans, and SPC.
Proficiency with MSA, gauge calibration, gauge R&R studies, GD&T, manufacturing processes, process development, tool & gauge development.
- Strong proficiency with auditing for quality and manufacturing best practices utilizing standards such as ISO9000, TS16949, VDA 6.3 or equivalent.
- Willing to work 50+ hours per week.
Technical Expertise:
- Ability to analyze data and prepare reports, statements, and projections.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, etc.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
- Analytical – Synthesize complex or diverse information; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data; designs workflows and procedures.
- Business Acumen – Understands business implications of decisions.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, mechanical systems, automotive systems, and exhaust systems.
- Project Management – Develops project plans; coordinates projects; communicates changes and progress; completes projects on time and budget; manages project team activities.
- Strives to continuously improve expertise, knowledge, and skills.
