Exciting opportunity to join a Global Commodities Trading Company. The role is based in their London office where you would be part of an expanding team. Excellent opportunities to progress and develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the Middle Office lead for all matters relating to trading books run from London.
- Take full risk ownership of complex physical oil product books and develop a deep understanding of the business and associated risks.
- Manage junior team members providing leadership and guidance as necessary.
- Help drive and enhance reporting change and innovation.
- Daily verification of ETRM system exposure and PNL.
- Publish position and PNL daily to traders and executive management.
- Advise traders of daily hedging requirements.
- Work closely with Operations, Claims & Finance to ensure the latest information concerning physical deals is reflected in the system (B/L, density, triggers, costs etc.), and verify any updates to the MTM exposure of physical trades.
- Help develop the company’s monthly reconciliation process between middle office and accounts.
- Work closely with Back Office to ensure positions are reconciled daily.
- Support the local Market risk team in the interpretation and reporting of VAR numbers.
- Help update, maintain and contribute to internal risk control documents.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 7-8 years’ experience in a similar middle office or risk role at a physical oil trading company or trading house.
- Educated to Bachelor’s Degree level (2:1 Hons) or higher.
Preferable Qualifications
- Worked with ‘Symphony’ ETRM.
- Experience working with SQL, Python or other coding.
Beneficial Knowledge
- Awareness of regulatory reporting requirements (MiFID).
