Job Title: Mid-Senior Java Engineer

Location: London (Hybrid – 2-3 days in-office)

Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum + Benefits

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior-Level Java Engineer to join a dynamic financial technology team in London. You will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing high-performance, scalable financial applications. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious developer with experience in Java and a passion for the financial sector. The role follows a hybrid working model, with 2-3 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java-based applications for financial services.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable software solutions.
3. Ensure code quality, security, and performance standards are met.
4. Work on both greenfield and existing applications, improving architecture and implementing best practices.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
6. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
7. Stay updated with the latest financial technologies and industry trends.

Key Requirements:

1. Based in the London Area
2. 5+ years of experience in Java development (Java 8 or later).
3. Experience with Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and RESTful APIs.
4. Strong understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
5. Knowledge of SQL and database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
6. Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus.
7. Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
9. Experience in financial services or fintech is highly desirable.
