We are looking for a Senior Construction Project Manager to help us develop our portfolio of hotels. This Project Manager will need to manage the whole project lifecycle with a keen interest in RIBA stages 1-4. These include work on listed buildings, extensions, density increase projects, and office to hotel conversions. We seek someone who can help us develop our hotel brands, improve buildability, and ensure that we deliver the best possible guest experience.
The person applying for this job should be an ambitious project manager capable of taking ownership and leading projects from beginning to end. They should have at least 5 years of relevant industry experience, ideally with a developer who operates in the hotel sector. This role can be based out of our Leeds or London office with a requirement for travel to all UK-based sites.
What we need from you:
- 5 years' experience working as a construction project manager in the hotel sector.
- A strong background in construction and a good understanding of how buildings work and current construction methods.
- Strong planning and organizing skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working in operating hotels during a construction phase.
- Up-to-date knowledge of CDM, building regulations, and construction H&S.
- Communication and influencing skills, in person and writing.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and sound decision-making skills.
- The ability to lead and manage projects.
- Flexible, collaborative, hands-on approach to enable success in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to build and develop positive working relationships with the wider team and Service Partners.
- Attention to detail but also the ability to see the implications for the bigger picture.
- Commercial awareness.
- Organization, time management, prioritizing, and the ability to handle a complex, varied workload.
- A good knowledge of IT packages.
- Ability to read and understand technical and architectural drawings and experience in product and project specifications.
- Flexibility for UK travel and overnight stays.
Your day-to-day:
- Take responsibility for projects to be delivered on schedule and on budget.
- Drive projects forward through all phases of the project.
- Participate in regular project review sessions, ensuring proactive management and helping communicate upcoming, forecasted, or potential risks and issues.
- Ensure that projects deliver on government regulations and environmental, health, and security standards.
- Engage with the project's key stakeholders, ensuring each stakeholder understands their contributions in a timely fashion.
- Work closely with the MD Office and Operations Team to ensure continuous knowledge of project status, potential issues, and opportunities.
- Advise businesses on increasing energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee building projects, renovations, or refurbishments.
- Draft reports and make written recommendations.
- Clearly communicate requirements to suppliers.
- Specification of both products and projects.
