Meritt are looking to hire a Sales Engineer for our client and their unique sales platform, that is building and growing quickly.

Having closed its most recent funding round and is backed by Seedcamp and some of the best angel investors in Europe. You’ll work alongside some of the industry’s most talented engineers, UX designers, product experts, and GTM leads to launch an industry-defining platform.
What you’ll be doing
The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to the sales team and prospects during the sales process. This role involves understanding the prospects’ technical needs, delivering product demonstrations, and creating technical solutions that align with their requirements in order to win the deal.
You will need to blend technical skills with your sales ability. You will have to be quick thinking and operate in a fast-paced environment where delivering solutions at speed is paramount.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the sales team and prospects to understand their requirements and become a trusted technical advisor.
- Designing, coding, and recommending solutions based on customer needs, industry trends, and the company’s product offerings. Covering everything from technical setup to integrations to small bug fixes.
- Conducting product demonstrations and technical presentations to prospects in person and remotely. Highlighting key features, benefits, and use cases relevant to their business needs.
- Providing technical expertise during the sales process, including answering client questions, handling technical objections, and addressing potential concerns to close deals.
- Assisting in preparing and reviewing technical content for proposals, RFPs, and RFQs. Ensuring that all technical aspects of the proposal align with the prospects’ requirements.
- Creating PoC or trial environments to demonstrate product capabilities and ensure the product meets the prospect’s expectations.
- Working closely with product management, engineering, and customer support teams to ensure the proposed solutions align with the company’s capabilities and the lead’s requirements.
- Collecting and relaying customer feedback to product and engineering teams to improve existing products and help develop future offerings.
- Continuously updating potential customers on the company’s product offerings and industry trends. Training sales teams on technical aspects of products to improve overall sales performance.
What we need from you
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of proven experience in a technical or engineering role, ideally in a sales or customer-facing technical position.
- Strong understanding of software engineering theory, integrations, APIs, and scripting (Javascript, JSON, Bash, Python). Ideally, experience with automation platforms like Zapier.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to assess customer needs and design tailored technical solutions.
- Confident and competent in presenting to clients and senior stakeholders individually and in groups.
- Strong understanding of customer needs and ability to build relationships to facilitate long-term partnerships.
- Ideally familiarity with sales processes, tools, and platforms, or at least desire to learn more.
