Job Description
Raw Material Technologist
Are you a Raw Material Technologist seeking your next step up in your career? Have you worked within a similar role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Do you want to join a company that is on an upwards journey of growth? Major Recruitment is seeking an experienced Raw Material Technologist to join our client\’s manufacturing site near Wembley.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out supplier approvals and risk assessments for all raw materials used within the business.
- Ensure all supplier approvals are correct and up to date.
- Ensure all raw materials specifications are accurate and up to date.
- Support the Technical Supply Chain Manager with customer queries regarding specifications and supplier assessment forms.
- Risk-assess processing details for all raw materials; complete the risk assessment and communicate to relevant departments.
- Support the Technical Supply Chain Manager in managing supplier approval for the business.
- Keep relevant factory paperwork up to date, such as the approved supplier list.
- Carry out preliminary approval of new/concept raw material with NPD prior to use.
- Attend all NPD feasibility meetings and actively participate as part of the technical team.
- Work closely with the Process & Specifications Manager to ensure correct information is transferred to both customer and internal specifications.
- Manage and update the raw material database.
- Work closely with all sites to ensure the up-to-date approved supplier list is always in use.
- Be involved with the Technical Supply Chain Manager or lead supply chain traceability exercises when required.
- Be involved in customer, second- and third-party audits.
- Be involved in and/or carry out supplier audits.

Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a Raw Materials Technologist.
- Experience in FMCG manufacturing (preferably food-related).
- Experience with supplier approvals; carrying out risk assessments and understanding specifications.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent level of literacy.
