Job Description
About the Role: Our client is seeking a dedicated Contracts Manager to join their Passive Fire Protection team. This role involves working closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution, regulatory compliance, and adherence to quality standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and in line with relevant industry standards and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee multiple passive fire protection projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. Review project proposals, contracts, and specifications to define scope and deliverables. Develop and maintain project schedules while monitoring progress and addressing any deviations. Conduct regular site visits to inspect work and ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing variations and additional requirements. Collaborate with procurement, compliance, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all passive fire protection projects adhere to UK fire safety regulations and industry standards. Implement quality control measures and conduct audits to maintain high workmanship standards.
- Health and Safety: Promote a safety-first culture and enforce adherence to health and safety protocols. Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate site hazards.
- Financial Management: Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost control measures. Work with finance teams to prepare accurate and timely financial reports.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency and passive fire protection methodologies. Stay up to date with industry developments and best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection.
- SMSTS certification.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Accreditation with FIRAS, IFC, or equivalent, with an understanding of the audit process.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Contracts Management within passive fire protection.
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office.
- Additional relevant certifications in passive fire safety or project management are desirable.
