This established MEP Contractor who specializes in high rise domestic new build housing with values up to £100 million seeks an experienced MEP Design Manager to oversee the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design aspects of their construction projects. The successful candidate will lead the design coordination process, ensuring compliance with project requirements, regulations, and industry standards while delivering cost-effective and innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the MEP design process from concept to completion.
- Ensure MEP designs align with project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Liaise with architects, structural engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
- Review and approve MEP design submissions, drawings, and calculations.
Project Delivery & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and regulations.
- Identify and mitigate design risks, ensuring buildability and efficiency.
- Conduct technical reviews and audits on MEP design documentation.
- Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize performance while reducing costs.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an MEP Design Manager within construction, consultancy, or contracting environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Experience working with BIM and CAD software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks).
- Familiarity with BS, CIBSE, ASHRAE, and other relevant standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
