Job Description

Shirley Parsons are partnering with a leading UK construction group to appoint an Environmental Lead for a 12-month sabbatical cover . This is an exciting opportunity to maintain environmental oversight on high-impact projects across London and the South East.

Why this role?

As the Environmental Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring that ongoing construction projects adhere to the highest environmental standards. This role focuses on maintaining current practices, with a strong emphasis on compliance and day-to-day environmental management. Working closely with project teams, you’ll ensure that all necessary checks and regulations are met across several major developments.

This position offers the chance to step into a senior role with one of the UK’s most established construction groups, where you’ll help ensure the company continues to deliver sustainable, compliant projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations, focusing on regulatory requirements and sustainability standards.
  • Monitoring & Auditing: Conduct routine environmental checks and audits across multiple sites, maintaining best practices in line with current regulations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent and complaint approach to environmental management.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a small team of three direct reports, providing guidance and fostering a culture of accountability and sustainability.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring transparency and compliance across all projects.
