18 Rec are currently looking to recruit an experienced Construction Logistics Manager to join our client overseeing the logistics on a £100 million commercial project in Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage logistics on site in accordance with company procedures and systems and monitor the construction process throughout.
- Manage deliveries via the Msite online delivery system (Just-in-time deliveries) and ensure delivery schedules and logistics and traffic management plans are updated and issued to the site team and subcontractors on a regular basis (weekly).
- Use the Msite system to update the delivery diary on a daily basis.
- Manage the online inductions via Msite and ensure Msite log in details and manuals are issued to subcontractors once pre-contracts are signed.
- Liaise with Msite to ensure all problems in relation to using the system are resolved.
- Maintain a daily site activity log (daily diary) on Work Wallet and Msite including photographs, to monitor and record progress for future use and reference.
- Keep an accurate record of deliveries completed, turned away, or those that didn’t show up.
- Understand all company electronic management systems and software required to undertake the role.
- Attend meetings as required by the Contract/Project Manager.
- Organise and chair on-site logistics meetings with the team and/or sub-contractors and suppliers as required.
- Maintain good working relationships with the site team, client representatives, third parties, and the public.
- Liaise with the site commercial team to assist in delivering project margin and managing effective cost control.
- Ensure that the highest possible safety standards are always maintained and that the appropriate safety culture is developed on site with the site team.
- Be responsible for managing the hoist and hoist drivers, crane team (crane drivers, crane supervisors, and slingers), traffic marshals, cleaners, security (man guarding and CCTV), and forklift operators.
- Supervise the management of the site plant authorisation and lifting accessories registers.
- Supervise and develop site staff and ensure competency of individuals to carry out delegated duties.
- Fully understand the site logistic arrangements and ensure compliant delivery of each element.
- Monitor the implementation across the site and ensure that all associated checks and documentation are completed in accordance with company procedure.
- Ensure site hoarding is in good condition, clean, and tidy always and ensure that the site cabins and welfare are in good condition, clean, and tidy.
