Building Physics Engineer

We are currently seeking a talented Building Physics Engineer in Exeter to help shape the future of building design.

As a Building Physics Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimising the energy performance and environmental impact of a diverse range of projects. You’ll work alongside architects, engineers, and clients to develop cutting-edge solutions that enhance building sustainability, comfort, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform detailed energy modeling and simulations to evaluate building performance using IES VE.
  2. Assess thermal comfort, daylight, and ventilation strategies to ensure buildings meet regulatory and sustainability standards.
  3. Collaborate with design teams to integrate sustainable practices into the building design process.
  4. Provide expert advice on building materials, insulation, and HVAC systems to enhance energy efficiency.
  5. Prepare technical reports and presentations that clearly communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
  6. Contribute to projects aiming for low-carbon and net-zero energy targets.
  7. Stay informed on the latest trends, regulations, and technologies in building physics and sustainable design.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Building Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in building physics, energy analysis, or building services engineering.
  3. Proficiency in IES VE.
  4. Strong understanding of building regulations, sustainability frameworks (e.g., BREEAM, LEED), and energy performance standards.
  5. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
