Freelance Bid Manager – Civils (Contract – Outside IR35)
Location: 2 days per week in Wiltshire, 3 days remote
We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager with a strong background in civils projects to lead the technical, quality, and commercial aspects of a high-value (£500m+) bid. This role is with a main contractor and requires a hands-on approach to ensure the bid is developed accurately and submitted successfully.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all bid management activities, including kick-off meetings, progress reviews, quality checks, and final settlement.
- Develop, maintain, and implement the bid programme, ensuring key milestones are met.
- Compile and submit corporate governance documents and present them as required.
- Manage proposal and review teams to produce high-quality responses within required timeframes.
- Oversee technical teams and suppliers, ensuring accurate methods and offers inform the programme and estimate.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency throughout the bid development process.
Requirements:
- Civils experience is essential.
- Proven track record managing high-value (£500m+) bids.
- Strong understanding of technical, quality, and commercial bid elements.
