Your Role
We’re looking for a Solutions Architect to help build the technical foundation that powers Zip’s ERP and integration ecosystem. This role focuses on internal technical enablement, navigating complex customer environments to architect the cleanest possible solutions, partnering closely with Product, and driving best-in-class standards across all of Zip’s integration workflows with a specific focus on the SAP ecosystem. As Zip continues to scale rapidly across enterprise customers like Coinbase, Notion, Canva, Samsara, Snowflake, and Databricks, your impact will be foundational: creating reusable integration assets, defining standards of how the Zip product interacts with external systems.
You Will
- You’ll work closely with our Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) teams while reporting to Engineering to design, maintain, and iterate on Zip-owned ERP and integration templates that power scalable, repeatable customer implementations.
- Architect & standardize SAP integrations: Design, maintain, and iterate on Zip’s core SAP (ECC and S/4HANA) and Ariba integration templates, ensuring they deliver scalable, repeatable, and robust customer implementations.
- Bridge product & the field: Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) to ensure integration templates stay perfectly aligned with core product architecture, field insights, and emerging customer needs.
- Turn nuance into scale: Analyze complex customer implementations to identify reusable data mapping patterns and system nuances, converting bespoke solutions into standardized internal assets.
- Support pre-sales engineering: Partner with account teams during pre-sales to design and vet integration architectures, ensuring prospective customers are set up for smooth, best-practice deployments.
- Drive technical implementation excellence: Define, document, and champion technical solution consulting best practices, raising the technical bar and driving consistency across all implementations.
- Become a Multi-ERP expert: Leverage your existing SAP, P2P, and module expertise (MM/FI) to build deep fluency across additional ERP ecosystems, ultimately becoming the ultimate subject matter expert on integration architecture, data models, and Zip’s App Studio.
- Build for permanent scale: Approach every technical challenge with an engineering mindset - designing and executing a solution thoroughly once so that future implementations happen effortlessly.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of hands‑on experience delivering integrations with SAP ERP environments (ECC, S/4HANA) or procurement platforms (Ariba).
- Strong foundational knowledge of core SAP business processes and data models within Materials Management (MM) and Financials (FI).
- Familiarity with standard SAP integration methods, such as IDocs, BAPI/RFC, OData APIs, or SAP BTP/CPI.
- Familiarity with iPaaS tools is preferred, but we welcome candidates with strong core integration logic who can learn new platform tools quickly.
- Experience working with XML / REST based endpoints and standard authentication protocols.
- Past ERP implementation, integration, configuration or administration experience is required.
- Ability to translate highly technical information for audiences with varying degrees of technical knowledge.
- Comfortable working with API documentation.
- Comfortable testing and troubleshooting integration errors.
- Able to understand customer requirements and document that information quickly, with little oversight.
- A continual learner and open to learning new technologies that Zip may integrate with in the future.
- Strong communication skills.
- Extreme attention to detail and pride yourself in being incredibly proactive.
- Experience working with product and engineering teams.
- Process‑driven with a strong bias toward continuous improvement; you consistently look for opportunities to make systems better than you found them through systematic improvement.
