Zion Landscapes are looking for an experienced gardener to join our expanding team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining beds and borders (staking, weeding, thinning out, cutting back, planting etc)
- Monitoring and ensuring plant health, treating where appropriate
- Pruning and cutting back at appropriate times
- Maintaining lawns and other green spaces (grass cutting, treating, leaf collecting, weed management etc)
- Offering planting recommendations to clients
We are looking for a Maintenance Gardener to maintain and improve the garden of our clients. Gardener responsibilities include all aspects of garden maintenance - monitor and maintain the health of all plants and greenscapes, watering and feeding plants, trimming trees and shrubs, fertilising and mowing lawns, weeding gardens and keeping green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter. You should know how to use and maintain gardening equipment, including mowers, trimmers and fertilisers, while following health and safety regulations. Ultimately, you will make sure our clients' gardens and green spaces are always healthy and beautiful.
Tasks to Include:
- Install and maintain seasonal plants
- Mow, trim and fertilise lawns
- Mulch, edge and weed gardens
- Prune and trim trees and bushes
- Maintain all gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers
- Monitor and maintain the health of plants
- Deal with pest problems that could damage plants
- Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter
Requirements and skills:
- Experience as an employed gardener
- Knowledge of plants and plant health
- Knowledge of pests and how to manage them
- Knowledge of synthetic and natural fertilisers
- A love of the outdoors and plant life
- Appropriate experience and qualifications
