Join Zing, a reputable company with over 20 years of expertise in commercial cleaning across London. We are rapidly expanding and are in search of organised and detail-oriented school cleaners to join our cleaning team at a school in NG7.

Job Summary

School Cleaners are responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors across the school premises. This includes cleaning classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and other communal areas. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail and a commitment to upholding high cleanliness and hygiene standards to create a positive learning environment.

Available shifts:

  • Monday to Friday: 4.00pm - 7.00pm (3 hours per day) at £13.56 per hour
  • Contractual Weeks: 52 weeks, including holidays (tbc)
  • Start date: 01 April 2026

DBS, Full Employment History, and References Required - We will assist with the procedure. An Overseas Check might also be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas daily.
  • Carry out deep cleaning activities.
  • Carry out routine cleaning activities such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and emptying trash bins.
  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces regularly.
  • Replenish bathroom supplies (toilet paper, soap, etc.).
  • Clean windows, desks, and furniture as needed.
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the supervisor.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Ensure that all cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and stored properly.
  • Clean and maintain equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or supply shortages to the supervisor.
  • Support in preparing and cleaning up after school events or activities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed to the client's satisfaction.
  • Adhere to the company's policies and procedures, maintaining a professional appearance and demeanour at all times.

Requirements

  • MUST have a DBS and satisfactory references (we will assist with the procedure).
  • MUST be available to attend deep cleanings as requested by the school calendar.
  • Previous experience in a cleaning role.
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Customer service skills and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Flexibility to provide cover services for various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as required.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
