Role Description

The Senior Quantity Surveyor role at Zing Construction Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in Liverpool.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will manage cost planning and control across commercial and residential construction projects, including preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), estimates, and tender documents.

Day-to-day tasks include monitoring project budgets, tracking variations, producing cost reports, and advising project teams on financial risks and opportunities.

The role involves close collaboration with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget while meeting quality and contractual requirements.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will also support contract administration, negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors, and contribute to continuous improvement in cost management processes.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with BOQ preparation, measurement, and tender documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Relevant academic or professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (e. g., degree or professional accreditation such as RICS or equivalent).
  • Solid knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and industry standards, ideally within UK commercial and residential sectors.
  • Strong analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (e. g., MS Excel, cost management or estimating software) and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
