About The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Test and Commissioning Lead/Manager to drive the development and delivery of our T&C services at a national level. Reporting to the National Project Engineering Manager, you will lead on-site execution, manage teams of Commissioning Engineers and ensure all activities meet client expectations and Zinfra’s high standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and expand our T&C capabilities, improve systems, processes and documentation and support tender development and project delivery. You will also play a key role in business development and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive national development and delivery of Zinfra’s Testing & Commissioning offering, ensuring consistent execution aligned with company standards and client expectations.
- Lead and mentor high-performing T&C teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement across all projects.
- Collaborate with Resource Coordinators to manage and allocate skilled personnel, aligning workforce capabilities with project needs.
- Execute or oversee complex on-site T&C activities, delivering safe, high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.
- Enhance T&C capabilities across systems, documentation and processes, championing innovation and standardisation to improve project performance.
- Develop competitive, compliant T&C tender submissions, supporting business growth and revenue, profitability and HSEQ targets.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, building trusted relationships to ensure satisfaction and alignment.
- Identify and implement development pathways for internal talent, growing in-house capability and supporting career progression across the T&C discipline.
- Champion lessons learned and risk management practices, continuously improving project execution through knowledge-sharing and robust governance.
About You
You are a results-driven professional with proven HV commissioning expertise across transmission and distribution networks. You have strong leadership skills and excel in managing complex substation projects, mentoring teams and driving process improvements. Your commitment to safety, integrity and high-quality outcomes is evident.
Requirements
- Extensive HV commissioning experience on transmission (132kV) and distribution networks.
- Delivery of greenfield and brownfield substation projects across multiple ownership networks.
- Strong leadership in team management, coaching and mentoring for high performance.
- Proven ability to implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Deep understanding of HV commissioning standards and compliance requirements.
- Skilled at balancing multiple priorities with attention to detail and accountability.
- Alignment with safety, teamwork and integrity as core values.

- Visa sponsorship: We are looking to sponsor engineers currently based in the UK. Under the Australia–UK Free Trade Agreement, UK passport holders have streamlined visa pathways. Applicants must be eligible for visa sponsorship under this agreement. Zinfra will cover visa application costs and relocation expenses.
