Zinc is building the infrastructure that makes hiring faster, fairer, and more transparent - and we're growing the sales team to match. This is not a traditional SDR manager role. You'll be stepping into a company that genuinely believes outbound is a craft, and that the best teams in the world are the ones willing to rethink how it's done.
We have a GTM engineer embedded in the go-to-market team - a rare thing at our stage. Your mandate is to work in unison with them to design, test, and scale outbound motions that most sales teams haven't even imagined yet. AI-augmented prospecting, automated signal-driven workflows, hyper-personalised sequencing at scale - this is the day-to-day, not the aspiration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of mid-market outbound SDRs - hiring, coaching, performance management, and career growth.
- Own the outbound engine, setting pipeline targets, refining ICP, and ensuring the team consistently generates quality opportunities for Account Executives.
- Partner with our GTM engineer to design and ship new outbound campaigns and workflows - from intent-signal sourcing to AI-assisted personalisation to automated follow-up sequences.
- Stay ahead of the curve: evaluate new tools and approaches continuously, run experiments, kill what doesn't work, and double down on what does.
- Set the standard for quality over volume - coaching SDRs to prioritise relevance and insight in every touchpoint rather than spray-and-pray cadences.
- Report on pipeline health with rigour - track conversion rates at every stage, identify bottlenecks, and present clear recommendations to sales leadership.
- Work closely with marketing and product to ensure outbound messaging reflects Zinc's positioning and capitalises on product launches and market moments.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven SDR management experience, ideally in a B2B SaaS or HR-tech environment, where you've built and coached outbound teams before.
- A genuine curiosity about AI and automation in sales. You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to understand what's possible and be excited to push boundaries.
- Strong analytical instincts - you run your team on data, not gut feel, and you can translate metrics into clear coaching points and strategic decisions.
- A player-coach mentality: you're comfortable rolling up your sleeves and writing sequences, researching prospects, or jumping on a coaching call when the team needs it.
- Excellent communication skills - you write well, give direct feedback, and can present pipeline performance to senior stakeholders with confidence.
- Mid-market ICP fluency: you understand the buying process at companies with 200–2,000 employees and know how to teach SDRs to navigate it.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience working alongside or managing a GTM engineering or RevOps function.
- Hands‑on familiarity with AI prospecting tools (e.g. Clay, Apollo, Unify, or similar).
- Background in recruitment‑tech, HR‑tech, or compliance‑adjacent SaaS.
- Experience scaling outbound from a small team to a larger function.
