Introducing Zinc Network. For over fifteen years, Zinc Network has been helping governments and businesses navigate the world's most complex challenges using communications, technology, and behavioural science. We work on some of the toughest briefs: protecting children online, strengthening democratic resilience, and championing purpose-driven technologies and organisations.

About the role: We’re looking for a Senior Producer to oversee a suite of content as part of an exciting new project. Must have UK government security clearance (SC). Based in London, and reporting to our Director of Content, the Senior Producer will find and select stories, commission videos and social posts, manage a small team creating them, and oversee the work creatively and editorially. The role also involves producing key high-quality videos, scripting, locating archive, working with animators and motion graphics designers, and edit-producing the videos. As the production lead, you will schedule and ensure all production milestones are hit, all assets delivered on time, and standards high. You should combine substantial journalistic experience with creative and innovative content production, having held a senior role in a news or content organisation, editorial responsibility, and experience managing creative work of others. You should be resourceful, curious, organised, efficient, and have a can-do attitude. Shooting or directing skills are not required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide editorial and journalistic oversight of the project, ensuring work meets editorial guidelines and ethical standards.
  • Manage the creative workflow and oversee the project’s creative team.
  • Find and select journalistic stories and develop creative ideas for videos and social content.
  • Oversee designers, animators, editors, and social content producers.
  • Write powerful treatments that bring ideas to life and suggest innovative creative approaches to maximise impact.
  • Write engaging scripts that convey complex information simply and clearly.
  • Take ownership of project schedules and ensure assets are delivered to a high quality and on time.
  • Produce and edit-produce a number of short videos simultaneously while maintaining accurate, rigorous, fact-checked scripts.
  • Participate in internal and client reviews, communicating creative vision and proposals effectively.
  • Take feedback well and be prepared to revise scripts and edits to meet client, partner, and stakeholder needs.

Application requirements:

In order for your application to be considered, please include samples of short social videos and other content that you have overseen and produced.

Requirements:

  • Must have UK government security clearance (SC).
  • Excellent understanding of social media platforms.
  • Eastern European languages preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Several years’ experience in a journalistic role, ideally with editorial oversight of others.
  • Several years’ experience of video production, with numerous scripting, producing and edit producer credits.
  • High level of creativity and ability to come up with attention-grabbing creative ideas.
  • Experience of archive research and motion graphics.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Positive and flexible ‘can-do' attitude and willingness to solve problems.
  • Ability to get on well with the team.

Diversity and inclusion: We’re committed to hiring a diverse workforce from a variety of professional and cultural backgrounds and encourage people that represent diverse viewpoints to apply.

Conditions of Employment: Disclose any previous disciplinary action resulting from a substantiated safeguarding or workplace investigation. Undergo background checks including employment verification, sexual offender registry, identity confirmation, and anti-terrorism vetting.

How to apply: Please include a cover letter stating how you meet each of the requirements. If you require an accommodation to be made at any point throughout the recruitment process, please advise us when contacted.
