Introducing Zinc Network. For over fifteen years, Zinc Network has been helping governments and businesses navigate the world's most complex challenges using communications, technology, and behavioural science. We work on some of the toughest briefs: protecting children online, strengthening democratic resilience, and championing purpose-driven technologies and organisations. Working in partnership with a global network of media outlets, communities, and influencers, we help clients understand complex issues, design and deliver behavioural interventions, create compelling campaigns, activate trusted grassroots networks, and evaluate impact. We're now building Kora — our AI-powered platform that systematises this expertise into scalable technology, enabling clients to work faster, more impactfully, and more cost-effectively. We're looking for people who want to operate at the intersection of geopolitics, security, and technological disruption, and who are committed to building a safer, more secure world.
Outline of the job: We are looking for a full-time research researcher with four or more years’ experience to fill a three-month contract between January and March. The successful candidate will be expected to produce detailed desk research and visually compelling, succinct, narrative-led quantitative and qualitative research reports that deliver clear insights and recommendations. The Research Manager will be based in London and be expected to be in our office at least 2 days per week; however, a fully remote role will be considered for the right candidate.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working through quantitative data sets in order to profile attitudinal audiences and their motivations.
- Leading story board sessions with research and strategy colleagues to establish report narratives.
- Analysing focus group data and, where necessary, using this to supplement quantitative findings.
- Creating visually compelling, narrative-led reports that ladder up to clear insights and recommendations.
- Using AI tools to augment analysis and report design.
- Presenting research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Data checking and proof reading reports.
- Representing Zinc at high-level meetings with clients and project partners.
- All while embodying the values of Zinc Network.
What we need from you:
- 4+ years' experience in market research.
- Experience with hypothesising and analysing cluster analysis (e.g. k-means or hierarchical) and/or developing qualitative typologies.
- A strong record of creating well-written, insightful quant and qual reports that require a minimum of senior level revision.
- Strong analytical skills with an eye for accuracy.
- Ability to present data in an accessible, story-led manner.
- Being able to think strategically and turn insights into actionable business recommendations.
- Experience with qualitative methodologies (e.g. designing discussion guides, analysing focus group transcripts) and integrating them with quantitative data.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (esp. PowerPoint and Excel).
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Confident in presenting to senior level clients.
- Thrives working within a small team and shaping and developing your role.
- The ability to work autonomously, with an ability to progress work and projects without ongoing input from senior colleagues.
- A track record of using AI tools for qual analysis and quant/qual alignment would be advantageous.
- An ability to run audience segmentations (e.g. cluster analysis) would be advantageous.
Desirable candidate requirements:
- An interest in international affairs, behavioural science and/or neuroscience.
- Experience of conducting and managing research among niche audiences and across international markets.
- Experience using SPSS or Q Software.
Area of Selection: We’re committed to hiring a diverse workforce from different professional and cultural backgrounds, and to that end we encourage a variety of people to apply to join our company to represent the diverse range of subjects associated with our projects.
Conditions of Employment: Candidates who receive a job offer will be required to disclose any previous disciplinary action against them resulting from a substantiated safeguarding (including any breaches involving trafficking-related activities) or workplace investigation. They will also undergo background checks including employment verification, sexual offender registry (as available), identity confirmation, and anti-terrorism vetting.
How to apply: Please include a cover letter stating how you meet each of the requirements. If you require an accommodation to be made at any point throughout the recruitment process, please advise us when contacted.
