Introducing Zinc Network. For over fifteen years, Zinc Network has been helping governments and businesses navigate the world's most complex challenges using communications, technology, and behavioural science. We work on some of the toughest briefs: protecting children online, strengthening democratic resilience, and championing purpose-driven technologies and organisations.
Working in partnership with a global network of media outlets, communities, and influencers, we help clients understand complex issues, design and deliver behavioural interventions, create compelling campaigns, activate trusted grassroots networks, and evaluate impact. We're now building Kora — our AI-powered platform that systematises this expertise into scalable technology, enabling clients to work faster, more impactfully, and more cost-effectively.
We're looking for people who want to operate at the intersection of geopolitics, security, and technological disruption, and who are committed to building a safer, more secure world.
About the role: We’re seeking a Senior Producer to oversee a suite of content as part of an exciting new project. Must have UK government security clearance (SC). Based in London, and working to our Director of Content, our Senior Producer will be responsible for finding and selecting stories. You will commission videos and social posts, and manage a small team creating them, overseeing the work creatively and editorially.
You will also be responsible for producing key high-quality videos themselves, including scripting, finding archive, working with animators and motion graphics designers, and edit producing the videos to guide them from start to finish. As the production lead on this project, you will oversee scheduling and ensure that all production milestones are hit, and all assets delivered on time and to a high editorial and creative standard.
You will take responsibility for driving the project forward, working with our accounts team, digital team and project management teams to ensure the smooth delivery of the project. You do not need any shooting or directing skills.
You will combine substantial journalistic experience with a creative and innovative approach to content production. Ideally, you will already have held a senior role in a news or content organisation with editorial responsibility and experience of managing the creative work of others. Willing to get stuck in yourself where needed, you will be resourceful, curious and brimming with ideas.
Overseeing the production of several pieces of content at the same time, you will need to be organised, efficient, positive, and with a can-do attitude to meeting deadlines. As an experienced video producer, you will have significant experience in the edit, and will be great at writing clear, attention-grabbing scripts. You will be a master of conveying complex information in a simple and concise fashion.
You will be able to take complex research and turn it into compelling video ideas, identifying the most effective hooks for a story and suggesting creative and engaging treatments to appeal to our target audiences. You will know how to make a film stand out visually, and how to find great archive. You will have experience of working with motion graphics and animation. Ideally, you will speak one or more Eastern European languages (please indicate which on your application) – however, we will also accept applicants who do not have these languages. You’ll also need excellent spoken and written English.
In order for your application to be considered, please include samples of short social videos and other content that you have overseen and produced.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide editorial and journalistic oversight of the project, ensuring work meets our editorial guidelines and ethical standards.
- Manage the creative workflow of the project and oversee the work of the project’s creative team.
- Find and select journalistic stories.
- Come up with creative ideas for videos and social content.
- Oversee the work of designers, animators, editors, and social content producers.
- Write powerful treatments that bring ideas to life and suggest innovative creative approaches to maximise impact.
- Write engaging scripts with personality that convey complex information in a simple and clear manner.
- Take ownership of schedules for your projects.
- Ensure assets are delivered to a high quality and on time.
- Produce and edit-produce a number of short videos simultaneously.
- Ensure all edit scripts and other paperwork are kept up to date.
- Ensure attention to detail in production processes.
