Introducing Zinc Network. For over fifteen years, Zinc Network has been helping clients navigate complex challenges at the intersection of security, technology, and behaviour change. Working in partnership with a global network of media, communities, and influencers, we help clients understand the most complex issues, design behavioural interventions, create compelling campaigns, activate trusted grassroots networks, and evaluate impact.
We’re now building Kora — our AI‑powered platform that systematises this expertise into scalable technology, making interventions faster and more cost‑effective whilst enabling clients and grassroots partners to design and deliver them independently. The world is becoming increasingly complex — with accelerating technology, evolving security threats, and shifting geopolitical and economic dynamics. That’s where you’ll find Zinc: tackling the trickiest challenges where these forces collide and driving impact on the issues that matter most.
About the role: We are expanding our freelance talent pool for Digital Content Strategists; specialists who can interpret campaign briefs, apply audience insights, and develop digital‑first strategies that maximise reach and impact across platforms. In this role, you will take the lead in shaping content direction: recommending formats, placements, and approaches tailored to campaign goals and audience behaviour. While strategy is the core of the role, you’ll also be comfortable producing and adapting content, from social copy to short‑form videos and graphics, to bring ideas to life when needed. This is an opportunity to contribute to purpose‑driven campaigns of global importance, combining digital strategy, creative thinking, and hands‑on production to make ideas resonate across diverse audiences.
Key responsibilities:
- Interpret briefs and translate them into actionable content strategies, recommending formats, platforms, aspect ratios, placements, and tone of voice.
- Contribute original ideas in brainstorms and project meetings, shaping campaign narratives and social storytelling.
- Use research and platform data to understand audience behaviours, preferences, and trends, and translate these into actionable content strategies.
- Oversee content planning and optimisation, ensuring creative is audience‑relevant, accessible, and aligned with campaign objectives.
- Develop and advise on paid and organic distribution strategies, identifying the right channels, budgets, and optimisation approaches to maximise content reach and impact.
- Support with hands‑on content production where required (short‑form videos, animations, explainers, graphics, carousels, and social cards).
- Repurpose existing creative into new digital formats, maximising effectiveness across multiple platforms.
- Stay up to date with evolving digital trends, platform updates, and user behaviours to inform strategy and execution.
- Monitor and interpret analytics (reach, engagement, retention, conversions) to evaluate content effectiveness and inform future campaigns.
- Collaborate with designers, researchers, and campaign teams, responding to feedback and ensuring final outputs are of the highest quality.
Requirements:
- Strong experience developing digital and social content strategies that connect with audiences.
- Understanding of what drives engagement on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Telegram.
- Creative problem‑solver with the ability to turn briefs into clear, actionable approaches.
- Skills in content creation tools such as Canva or Adobe Premiere (knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus).
- Excellent time management and adaptability in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
- Sensitivity to diverse audiences and awareness of sociopolitical contexts.
Why Zinc?
- Contribute to campaigns that strengthen open societies.
- Shape the strategic direction of digital‑first campaigns.
- Collaborate with international teams and apply insights across global projects.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds. We believe that a diversity of perspectives, cultures and experiences strengthens the creativity and relevance of our work.
