Zinc Consult is currently looking for a senior estimator for our rail infrastructure team based in York. The successful candidate will support our project teams and will undertake large and complex cost planning, quantification, pre-contract estimates and post-contract commercial reviews on a major rail framework.
Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
- Working with the project teams to deliver accurate estimations for large and complex programmes.
- Controlling and managing the estimating process at project level.
- Applying and using recognised, appropriate method of measurement rules (eg RMM) in the preparation of all estimates.
- Supporting client procurement teams with tender and/or contract price analysis and reference to baseline and revised estimates.
Requirements:
- Experience in Pre- and post-contract estimating.
- BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent.
- Rail/Civils experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in technical delivery of UK rail projects.
- Understanding of project management, planning, risk and investment processes.
- Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills.
