We are looking for a talented Software Engineer (Go) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing high-performance back-end services that support financial service applications. Your focus will be on collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions for complex problems in the asset management space.
We are particularly seeking candidates who are proficient in integrating AI tools into their daily development cycle to improve productivity, code quality, and problem-solving. There is an expectation you will attend our Churchill Place, Canary Wharf office, up to 3 days each week.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop highly scalable and reliable services in GO language.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test software solutions.
- Kafka integration and implementation with Go services.
- Leverage the corporate AI assistant and other strategic coding tools to enhance development workflows.
- Actively use AI tools to support code generation, debugging, documentation, and testing.
- Ensure that all microservices are highly available and fault tolerant.
- Troubleshooting and debugging issues as they arise.
- Keeping up to date with emerging trends, AI-assisted development practices, and best practices in front-end development.
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to a positive team culture.
- Ensure all code written has the appropriate level of unit test coverage.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Developer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or MobX.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous data fetching.
- Knowledge of modern front-end development tools and frameworks such as webpack, babel, and npm.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, AI-powered testing and linting tools) to accelerate and improve software development.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with server-side rendering and/or Next.js.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest or Enzyme.
- Knowledge of GraphQL and Apollo Client.
- Understanding of UX design principles and accessibility best practices.
