We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to help build, operate, and improve a GitOps‑driven blockchain platform running on AWS and Kubernetes. The role sits between infrastructure engineering, platform operations, and delivery enablement, with day‑to‑day work spanning Terraform, EKS, Argo CD, Helm‑based application delivery, CI/CD, observability, and secure environment promotion across multiple environments. You’ll work on a platform that supports blockchain workloads and surrounding services including Besu, Hyperledger FireFly, Prometheus/Grafana, and supporting AWS networking and identity components. This role is hybrid and will require regular weekly attendance at our London office (2‑3 days per week).
Core Responsibilities
- Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
- Support and evolve EKS‑based Kubernetes platforms across multiple environments.
- Manage application delivery through Argo CD and GitOps workflows.
- Work with Helm and Kustomize overlays to deploy and promote platform services.
- Operate and improve core platform components such as:
- Argo CD
- External Secrets
- cert‑manager
- Vault
- Prometheus/Grafana
- metrics‑server
- Hyperledger Besu
- VPCs, subnets, routing, Transit Gateway attachments
- IAM roles and policies
- KMS and secrets integrations
- RDS‑backed platform dependencies
- EKS clusters and supporting access patterns
Qualifications
- Commercial experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineer.
- Strong hands‑on experience with AWS.
- Good working knowledge of Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Amazon EKS.
- Experience writing and maintaining Terraform.
- Experience with Helm and Kubernetes manifests.
- Experience with Argo CD or similar GitOps tooling.
- Experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD tooling.
- Strong Linux and shell scripting skills.
- Familiarity with:
- IAM and cloud security practices
- Ingress and TLS management
- DNS and certificate automation
- Secrets management patterns
- Observability stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Hyperledger Besu or blockchain infrastructure.
- Experience supporting multi‑environment release promotion models.
- Experience working in strongly controlled GitOps environments where all persistent changes flow through PRs.
