About the role: As our Engineering Manager you'll play a pivotal role as a servant leader, directing, encouraging, and driving the team to excel. Your expertise will guide technical direction, mentor the team, and contribute hands-on. Day to day, you'll lead teams, design technical aspects, prioritise tasks, and support leadership while fostering best engineering practices.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Leading two agile teams to implement features that deliver significant impact for our customers.
- Designing technical aspects and architecture of user stories and plans for delivery to production.
- Prioritising technical debt alongside product deliverables to achieve the best outcomes for Zilch.
- Supporting the Head of Engineering and CTO and interacting with key senior business stakeholders.
- Taking ownership for overall delivery cadence and quality for your teams.
- Identifying and removing obstacles and bottlenecks from the team.
- Driving adoption of best engineering practices to improve delivery.
- Mentoring and coaching team of engineers in agile and lean practice.
- Organising effective knowledge transfer, training, and documentation.
What we’re looking for:

- A Bachelor and/or master’s degree.
- 3+ years’ experience leading and managing software engineering teams, including coaching teams on agile practices.
- Experience in Scrum, Kanban or other immediate type delivery.
- Previous experience in developing either Java, React, C# etc.
- 2+ years communicating to key stakeholders.
