About the role

The Communications Operations Executive is an operational and generalist role supporting the delivery of Zilch's internal and external communications in a highly visible, fast-moving fintech environment. This role helps operationalise Zilch's corporate narrative, maintain core messaging, and ensure communications channels, processes, and assets run smoothly across media, partners, regulators, and employees. Working closely with senior communications leaders and agency partners, this role bridges strategy into execution, managing digital channels, content workflows, calendars, and reporting that keep messaging clear, consistent, and aligned with business priorities. This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organised, digitally fluent, and keen to build broad experience in corporate communications, public affairs, and reputation management within a dynamic scale-up fintech environment.

What you’ll do...

  • Communications operations & strategic support
    • Maintain Corporate Communications integrated plans that align with Zilch's commercial priorities and corporate narrative, ensuring materials, channels, and timelines are coordinated and up to date.
    • Create and maintain core corporate messaging documents, Q&As, and background materials, working with senior in-house team members and agency partners to keep messaging current and consistent.
    • Produce high-quality communications assets such as briefing documents, slide decks, summaries, and internal updates that help simplify complex topics into clear, usable information.
    • Maintain stakeholder support materials (e.g., meeting prep docs, alignment notes, trackers) that reduce friction and help leaders and partners focus on strategic decisions rather than logistics.
  • Digital, social & content communications
    • Manage Zilch's LinkedIn presence and content calendar, ensuring key corporate news, milestones, and thought leadership are published, amplified, and engagement is monitored, with guidance from Communications management.
    • Maintain the corporate news section of the Zilch website, ensuring it is current and aligned with external announcements and social content.
    • Help activate employees as brand ambassadors by sharing "Zilch in the news" updates and guidance that encourages disciplined, on-message social amplification.
    • Support development of blog/editorial processes, including schedules, approvals, and evaluation of additional corporate content streams where appropriate.
  • Corporate communications, public affairs & events
    • Create and maintain the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs annual calendar, supporting weekly reviews, horizon scanning, and follow-through with the team and agency.
    • Maintain schedules for tier-one industry events, speaking opportunities, press moments, sponsorships, and awards.
    • Own the operational delivery of awards process end-to-end, from identifying opportunities to drafting submissions, coordinating executive participation, and amplifying outcomes across channels.
    • Collaborate with Marketing, Partnerships, and other teams to ensure corporate communications is aligned to key campaigns, sponsorships, and brand activations, supporting a unified external narrative.
  • Governance & reporting
    • Manage corporate communications assets and processes to ensure documents, templates, and trackers are current, accessible, and appropriately controlled.
    • Maintain media and influencer lists, and media subscription records, ensuring data is accurate and up to date.
    • Support quarterly reporting by gathering data, tracking activity, and helping build reporting decks that demonstrate communications impact.
    • Support work related to regulatory and reputational communications by ensuring materials, messaging, and approvals are well documented and aligned with internal processes.

What we’re looking for...

  • Demonstrable experience in an in-house communications role, ideally in UK fintech, financial services, or another regulated environment.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple calendars, content streams, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to turn complex or technical topics into clear, structured content.
  • Digitally fluent, with experience managing corporate social channels and website content.
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and agency partners, and confident seeking input when needed to overcome barriers.
