The role.
We are seeking a Fraud Manager responsible for developing and implementing strategies to prevent and detect fraud. This role involves collaborating with teams such as Credit Risk and Engineering, monitoring fraud trends, leading analysts, and coordinating with external partners to ensure effective case resolution. The Fraud Manager will also report on fraud metrics to leadership and utilize data analytics to enhance detection methods, protecting both the company and its customers.
Day-to-day responsibilities.
- Develop, execute, and refine Zilch’s fraud management framework and strategy.
- Monitor emerging fraud trends and threats, working with Credit Risk, Product, and Engineering teams to implement proactive measures to reduce fraud losses.
- Stay informed about new fraud trends and mitigation strategies in the market.
- Create standardized policies, procedures, and controls for fraud detection, prevention, and reporting.
- Assess and improve fraud workflows for seamless case handling and explore automation opportunities.
Team & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead and manage the internal fraud team, including two Senior Fraud Analysts.
- Foster a collaborative team culture to ensure effective teamwork aligned with KPIs.
- Coordinate with Compliance, Legal, and Service Operations teams to streamline fraud operations.
- Act as the primary contact between the business and external fraud agencies and partners.
- Work with Product, Engineering, and Service Operations teams to embed fraud prevention measures into new initiatives and product updates.
BPO Management:
- Oversee BPO operations, ensuring service levels and KPIs are met.
- Coordinate between the internal fraud team and BPO for escalated and complex cases.
- Conduct performance reviews to evaluate quality and efficacy of fraud detection by BPO.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Provide regular reports on fraud performance, trends, and incidents to senior leadership.
- Maintain dashboards for real-time KPI monitoring.
- Utilize data analytics to identify gaps and improve fraud detection rules.
- Monitor customer feedback to refine detection and response strategies, reducing impact on genuine customers.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of fraudulent accounts to external agencies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in fraud management, including working with BPOs or outsourced teams.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical mindset with expertise in data analysis, fraud modeling, and detection technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience with KYC and AML regulatory requirements.
- Experience with fraud prevention tools such as CIFAS, Onfido, Experian, GBG.
- Certifications like CFE or CAMS are preferred.
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or related fields is advantageous.
