Job Summary

ZigZag is expanding! After a decade of success in the UK, we are expanding our UK based Sales team with the addition of a new Business Development Manager. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an ambitious and high‑performing Business Development Manager to be at the forefront of our continued growth as we go into 2026 with the launch of our new returns portal and other exciting customer propositions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and drive new business through understanding and influencing prospects’ needs, tailored sales pitches, presentations, and value propositions.
  • Create your own business plan within identified markets to approach targets in an organized and focused manner.
  • Understand the customer’s business strategy, opportunities and issues.
  • Successfully execute sales and relationship strategies and tactics.
  • Represent and convey customer needs internally and ensure adequate priorities.
  • Proactively build and generate a new business pipeline, converting suspects to prospects, prospects to opportunities and opportunities to clients.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure a smooth implementation process.
  • Report as required to the Commercial Director to provide updates on activity.
  • Meet or exceed all targets assigned.
  • Gather and communicate market and competitor information.
  • Create new relationships through networking; online and offline.
  • Attend industry events, awards and conferences where required or appropriate.
  • Support the Marketing and Sales Development team on outbound strategies and lead generating efforts.
  • Complete and track sales tasks and deals accurately using CRM system.
  • Report on sales metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of our products and how they serve our clients’ needs, including features, advantages, benefits and key examples of usage.
  • Passionately represent our organizational culture, values and our exceptional reputation.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Strong experience in new business development, with a strong network in ecommerce, logistics, or retail.
  • Proven track record in solution selling, ideally within a SaaS or logistics environment.
  • Excellent prospecting skills with ability to identify and engage prospects at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial setting.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet prospects and attend industry events.
