Role: Data Engineer

Ookla is looking for a Data Engineer to help scale our SaaS Platform & Applications to serve more customers and data. You will work with data pipelines transforming raw data from APIs into datasets used by data analysts and data scientists.

Expectations for Success

  • Participate in designing and implementing our data platform
  • Design, implement, and operate scalable streaming and batch pipelines
  • Collaborate with engineers and data analysts to build reliable, understandable datasets
  • Manage and optimize performance of our SingleStore database

Requirements

  • Experience with data pipelines in cloud environments, preferably AWS
  • Proficiency in Python or Java
  • Comfortable with SQL
  • Experience creating and optimizing data models for BI tools like Tableau
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience building streaming and batch pipelines
  • Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of data warehouse solutions such as BigQuery or Amazon Redshift
  • Passionate about your work and comfortable in an international environment
  • Telecom industry experience is a plus but not required
  • Enjoy automating processes and monitoring systems
