Two superb new roles in this fast growing boutique insurance practice who mainly act for Lloyd’s and company insurers in defending professional indemnity claims against policyholders. Acting for solicitors and financial advisers, (and other professions too), they also deal with wider financial lines matters, including D&O claims, regulatory investigations and enforcement (mainly Financial Conduct Authority) and coverage issues.
Set up by a partner several years ago with a background and pedigree working at large City insurance firms, they are already regarded as a leading professional indemnity firm. Due to growth, the firm are now keen to recruit two further senior lawyers, one at the 5+ pqe level and the other at 8+ pqe. You must have professional indemnity insurance, ideally solicitors, but also some exposure to defending construction professionals.
Whilst the firm and team are small, their work is of a very high quality, on a par with other larger insurance firms. Their insurer clients generally do not take the approach of receiving and reviewing claims quickly, so associates are able to get their teeth into cases, with very active case management that provides them with lots of litigation exposure.
These are challenging roles, but very rewarding for an ambitious associate who perhaps wants more than to be a small cog in the machine of a large firm. There are excellent prospects for partnership and competitive salaries in line with the insurance / PII legal market.
