My client is a fast growing global music business working with all the major streaming platforms and now seeks to recruit two legal counsels, one at the mid level (3-4 PQE) and another at senior level (with at least 5 years PQE).
Both roles will involve negotiating and drafting deals with music DSPs; working closely with business development colleagues on new and existing business opportunities; managing deals with music publishers; working closely with Ops and Finance teams on royalty distribution queries and processes. In addition, maintaining and developing relationships across the independent publishing communities by attending events and talks; managing litigation issues with external counsel, maintaining a database of contracts and being across developments in IP law.
You will need strong academics and a rigorous legal training, excellent commercial / technology contracts experience with some knowledge of IP, in particular copyright law. Whilst not a requirement, ideally you will have some understanding of the music industry but more importantly a passion for immersing yourself in the sector.
