A Mental Health Home in Coalville, Leicestershire is seeking a Senior Residential Worker for Children & Young People. This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary range of £28,928 - £36,528 plus a Night Shift Premium of 1/3 hourly rate (approximately £3,000 per year). The role involves working 37 hours per week on a 3-week rolling rota.

This position is with one of the largest children's charities in England, which has over 800 services nationwide. Recently, contracts were signed with Leicestershire County Council to create new services in the area, including a mother and baby unit, respite care, children's homes for EBD and sexual abuse, and a mental health step-down service. We are now finalising the recruitment stage for this project.

About the Service

We provide a safe, therapeutic home supporting young people aged 8-18 years transitioning from Tier 4 CAMHS back into the community, focusing on recovery, independence, and emotional resilience.

Your Role as a Senior Residential Worker

  • Build trust and develop nurturing relationships that promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
  • Work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
  • Lead and support the Residential Support Workers in their day-to-day duties.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking and cleaning.
  • Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Promote, monitor, and maintain a safe environment at all times.

What We’re Looking For

  • Full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle (essential).
  • Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
  • Experience with children/young people in care settings.
  • Understanding of mental health & trauma-informed practice.
  • Flexibility to work shifts (including weekends/bank holidays).
  • Strong communication skills.
