ZG Recruitment is recruiting for a Nursery Room Leader to join a friendly and established team supporting around 63-73 children with approximately 18 childcare staff. This nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, focusing on early learning and development across age-grouped rooms: 0-2 years, 2-3 years, 3-4 years and 4+ holiday club. The setting places strong emphasis on hands-on activities, confidence building, social skills and preparing children for school.

What this role requires:

  • Ideally a driver within 25 minutes of the nursery
  • Level 3 in Childcare (or above)
  • Previous nursery experience

Job outline:

The Room Leader will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of their room, leading a small team to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained. You will act as a key person, building positive relationships with children and parents and supporting each child’s individual learning and development. The role involves planning and delivering engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. You will supervise and support staff, delegating tasks and acting as a positive role model at all times. Safeguarding, health and safety, and children’s welfare will be central to all aspects of your work. You will maintain accurate records, carry out observations, and work with parents and outside agencies when required. The post also includes contributing to the overall nursery operation and helping the setting achieve and maintain at least a “Good” Ofsted rating.
