Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. Permanent position, 8am - 6pm, working 3-4 days per week (flexible to suit you). Ages 3 months - 11 years, including day care, preschool and holiday club. Ofsted: GOOD.

ZG Recruitment is recruiting for a Nursery Practitioner to join a friendly and established team supporting around 63–73 children with approximately 18 childcare staff. This nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, focusing on early learning and development across age-grouped rooms: 0-2 years, 2-3 years, 3-4 years and 4+ holiday club. The setting places strong emphasis on hands-on activities, confidence building, social skills and preparing children for school.

What this role requires:

  • Ideally a driver within 25 minutes of the nursery
  • Ideally Level 3 in Childcare (or above)
  • Ideally previous nursery experience

Job outline:

The Nursery Practitioner will act as a positive role model, implementing daily routines and supporting colleagues to maintain high nursery standards. You will plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the EYFS, ensuring each child’s learning and development needs are met. As a key worker, you will build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing clear handovers and encouraging involvement in their child’s progress.

The role includes observing and assessing children, identifying any concerns, and working with the SENCO and external agencies where required. You will ensure the health, safety and welfare of all children, following safeguarding, accident and risk assessment procedures at all times. The practitioner will maintain accurate records, support dietary and medical needs, and contribute to a safe, stimulating and clean environment. Ongoing professional development, compliance with nursery policies, and participation in meetings and training are essential parts of the role.
