We're looking for compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic Residential Family Support Workers to join our dedicated team on a Bank (As & When) basis at a specialist Family Residential Centre in Market Harborough.

About the service:

Our specialist Family Residential Centre provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where families can receive intensive support while parenting assessments are completed. The service consists of three self-contained family flats and supports parents facing a range of complex challenges, including:

  • Learning disabilities
  • Mental health difficulties
  • Domestic abuse
  • Substance misuse
  • Trauma and adverse life experiences

Working alongside experienced colleagues and partner agencies, you'll help families develop practical parenting skills, establish healthy routines and create positive, lasting change for their children. This is a rewarding role where your encouragement, patience and guidance can transform lives.

What you'll be doing:

As a Residential Family Support Worker, you'll be at the heart of supporting families every step of the way. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building trusting, positive relationships with parents and children
  • Supporting families to develop safe, consistent parenting routines
  • Acting as a positive role model through guidance and practical support
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing
  • Working closely with social workers and other professionals
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to assessments and reports
  • Supporting with day-to-day household tasks including cooking and maintaining a welcoming environment
  • Promoting safeguarding and ensuring children remain safe at all times
  • Helping create a warm, caring and nurturing home where families can thrive
We're looking for someone who...

You'll be someone who genuinely cares about improving outcomes for children and families. You'll ideally have:

  • A Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or be willing to work towards it)
  • Experience working with children, young people and families
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, resilient and positive approach
  • The flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable families
  • Experience within residential childcare, family support, social care, youth work, education or similar settings would be highly desirable.
