We are recruiting for a permanent, full-time Residential Support Worker to join our Mother & Baby Family Residential Service based in Market Harborough. In this role, you will support mothers (and occasionally fathers) and their children who are completing a 12–16 week residential assessment programme through the courts. Families may be referred for a variety of reasons, including young parenthood, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health concerns, or additional safeguarding needs.
Your role will involve supporting parents to safely care for and meet the needs of their children, whilst providing guidance, encouragement, and practical support throughout their placement. You will work closely with families to help them develop their parenting skills and create a safe, nurturing environment for their children, in line with court expectations and care plans. This is a highly rewarding but responsible position, as the work completed within the service can play a significant part in helping families remain together wherever it is safe and appropriate to do so.
About Our House: We offer specialist residential support to families who need help with parenting young children. The centre includes 3 self-contained flats, each accommodating a family. Families may be coping with:
- Moderate to high learning needs

- Supporting colleagues through role modelling and teamwork
- Keeping accurate records and documentation
- Maintaining a safe, nurturing environment at all times
- Working closely with other professionals and agencies
- Upholding safeguarding practices
What You’ll Need: Experience working with early years such as nursery settings or other similar settings would be highly beneficial in this role but not essential.
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete it within the required timeframe)
- Experience working with families in a similar residential or support setting
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and protecting children and young people
- Strong communication and people skills
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays
- Willingness to travel to support other nearby homes in Hinckley, Coalville, Mountsorrel and Syston. Ideally, you'll be a driver.
