Hours: 10:00pm – 8:15am (4 nights on, 4 nights off)

Contract: Full-time | Permanent

Additional Pay: £26,142.40 - £29,463 plus a night rate which works out to be approx ⅓ of hourly rate - (approx £8,626 - £9,722)

Join our brand-new Short Breaks Service supporting those aged 8–18 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs. Our new home in Mountsorrel will offer short breaks for up to 3 young people at a time—helping them develop confidence, friendships, and key life skills.

Flexibility Required

While Mountsorrel will become your base, you may be asked to cover shifts at other local residential homes (Hinckley, Coalville, Syston) until the Short Breaks service becomes fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build nurturing, trusting relationships that promote independence and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with families and professionals
  • Support day-to-day running of the home (cooking, cleaning, etc.)
  • Accurately record and maintain essential documentation
  • Follow safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Promote a safe, supportive, and positive environment

What You’ll Need

  • Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within timeframe)
  • Experience working with children and young people in residential care
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Availability to attend daytime training, group supervision, and consultation sessions as required
