About the Team
Darlaston, United Kingdom
Our Logistics and Warehousing team ensures the smooth, safe, and efficient flow of materials across all inbound and outbound operations. We coordinate supplier and customer transport, manage delivery slots, and support all customs-related processes while upholding agreed service levels with our logistics partners. The team maintains optimal warehouse capacity, oversees racking integrity through regular SEMA-aligned audits, and drives timely repairs when needed. We are also responsible for training and maintaining competency in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operations and providing key coverage for physical inventory activities. Working closely with production, dispatch, engineering, quality, and Manufacturing Systems, we quickly resolve warehouse-related production needs and ensure seamless communication across departments. Safety, compliance with ZF 5S standards, and continuous operational reliability are central to how we work. Our team provides flexible support across all warehousing functions, aligned with the Warehouse & Intralogistics Manager, to keep operations running efficiently and effectively.
What you can look forward to as Logistics & Freight Specialist:
- Manage and control all planning activities for assigned freight, warehouse, and material movement processes.
- Support and coordinate customs-related tasks for ZF Darlaston, including required group and haulier reporting.
- Oversee haulier movements to and from site, ensuring communication, coordination, and compliance.
- Track and progress supplier transports, including customs clarifications and delivery updates.
- Drive actions to improve inventory accuracy and optimize warehouse and transport capacity.
- Support operations with ad-hoc transport needs, escalations, and general warehouse/logistics enquiries.
- Contribute to emergency planning, continuous improvement activities, and New Product Introduction logistics.
- Prepare logistics-related reports, data analyses, and support additional department tasks as required.
